WEAK FLIPPING ROD with a WEAK WARRANTY I bought this SA 766FLIP flipping rod late March '23. I was really excited how light and sensitive it felt and was equally excited to retire my 33 year old Allstar flipping stick that was feeling a little to heavy in my old age. In late June '23 I treated myself to a day of flipping hydrilla and jerking bass. The rod was great until I swung the second six pounder into the boat and the rod snapped. My day was over and I headed to the house, being assured by my good fishing buddies that Dobyns would take care of the rod. The story didn't exactly end like that. After speaking with a rep at Dobyns, I was encouraged to send the rod in for inspection. After I spent $35 shipping cost I get a call telling me that the rod was stressed beyond it's capability and that the new rods have less graphite in them, making them lighter and more sensitive but not as strong as the old rods. Not covered by warranty but they would replace it for $60 + $30 shipping. So much for a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Their warranty should be termed a REPLACEMENT POLICY. Unhappy fisherman!
